Scouts Help with Campground Christmas Food Drive 

Members of Boy Scout Troop 327 helped collect, sort, and weigh all of the items collected at A Campground Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of the public, we were able to collect 725 pounds of food, clothes, blankets, and hygiene items, plus $340 in monetary donations!

Troop 327 held it's winter court of honor, Christmas Party, and annual Ugly Car Derby at Wildlife Woods Campground. Connor Milligan won the Ugly Car Derby and many were recognized for their acheivements since the Fall court of honor. 

December 3 - 5, 2021

Troop 327 held it's annual cabin retreat at the Belk Lodge at Camp Bud Schiele. Besides outdoor fun, the Scouts worked on a new Eagle-required badge, Citizenship in Society, and the American Cultures merit badge. We also caught up on rank requirements and record keeping.

Scouts from Pack 327 and Troop 327 collected food set out for Scouting for Food. The food collected was taken to ECCCM in Newton. We were able to collect over 850lbs.

Scouts working on Citizenship in the Community visited the Town of Catawba's council meeting to watch and listen to discussions on upcoming events in our area.

Scouts and Cubs of 327 brought honor to our Veterans and supported our new charter VFW Post 5305 by marching in the Catawba Veterans Day Parade.

Landry Black completed his Board of Review and officially became an Eagle Scout. His project was renovation of a bathroom at Balls Creek Campground.

Troop 327 hosted the Fall Camporee at Murrays Mill Historic District. Events included an obstacle course, pumkin carving, leaf and plant identification, and tours or the mill.

Troop 327 was invited to participate in the America Rolls Strong Truck Parade in Claremont, NC to honor the memory of attacks on September 11, 2001. Multiple trucking companies and rescue groups paraded their patriotically wrapped trucks.

August 28 - 29, 2021

Scouts from Troop 327 backpacked into the Harper Falls area along Wilson's Creek and stayed overnight. It was a true backpacking trip as everyone carried their own gear and food. The falls and swimming area were a huge highlight of the trip.

For his Eagle Scout project, Logan Probst lead a group of scouts in creating a handicapped observation deck at the softball stadium behind Mt. Pleasant Church.

Troop 327 sent our first two crews for Philmont expeditions. The crews left July 31, 2021 and returned August 8, 2021. In all the crews hiked over 60 miles, climbed a 10,000 foot peak (Black Mountain), participated in horseback riding, black power shooting, metal smithing, and other activities.
