Troops 327 and 1327 held their Christmas Party, December Court of Honor, and annual Ugly Car Derby at Wildlife Woods Campground. After a great potluck meal, awards were presented and the Ugly Car Derby commenced.

Every year, right before Thanksgiving, Scouts join others around the country in "Scouting for Food".  The prior week, Scout place out flyers in local neighborhoods asking residents to put on food for collection. The Scouts then collect the food and help sort it.  648 pounds of food was collected this year!

Our Troops and Pack are chartered by VFW Post 5305. To help honor our Charter Organization, our Scouts march in the Catawba Veterans Day parade.

Rendezvous is a Scout gathering for an entire Coucil that occurs every four years. After skipping the 2020 Rendezvous due to the COVID epidemic, the Piedmont Council once again gathered it's Scouts at the Gaston Fairgrounds. Nearly 1200 Scouts participated.

Scouts, Scouters, friends, and family gathered to congratulate Safari Lane on completing his Eagle award. Safari created an exersise station path at the Connor Recreation Center in Sherrills Ford.

The Eagle Court of Honor for Boedi Kirkland was held at Mt. Pleasant Church. Boedi's Eagle project consisted of creating a brick pathway at Murray's Mill Historic site.

While many of the older scouts and leaders were away at Philmont, some of the younger scouts participated in a Putt-Putt tournament at Cross Country Campgrounds. Matthew Troup was our victor!

July 2 - 9, 2024

Troop 327 took two crews back to Philmont. Some were veterans, but many were brand new trekkers. Both crews hiked 10,000+ mountains and endured crazy weather before heading back east. #IWTOGBTOP

Our Scouts chose to attend Camp Bud Shiele for the Summer Camp outing. The theme for 2024 was Space. The troops created a great, handpainted gateway, dressed up as space aliens and astronauts, all while earning merit badges and having LOTS of fun.

Nick and Zach Stockton chose to have a joint Eagle Court of Honor. Both Scouts completed projects at Murrays Mill Historic site. Zach built a set of stairs and Nick let a project to build a campsite.

Scouts and adults preparing for their Philmont treks in June visited Grayson Highlands for a shakedown hike. Grayson Highlands is probably the closest environment to Philmont, east of the Miississippi and is an excellent place to prepare.

The Scouts of Troop 327 participated in a combination fundraiser / campout at the Foothills Antique Power & Tractor Show held at the American Legion Fairgrounds in Hickory, NC. The scouts camped for the weekend and kept the fairgrounds clean by gathering the trash all weekend. The adults sold drinks and snacks at the store on the midway.

The Piedmont Council holds an annual banquet to recognize all of those who have earned Eagle in the previous year. This year 5 Eagles from Troop 327 participated.

Cooper Lipe's Eagle Court of Honor was held at Mt. Ruhama Church where Cooper also completed his Eagle Scout project. Cooper's project consisted of renovating the church's playground and installing a fence.

Scouts prepping for Philmont travelled to Lenior, NC to the Anita Youth and Horse Camp for their first big shakedown hike.

Our Scouts gathered at Mackie's Woods for a spring campout focused on learning wilderness survival skills and earning the wilderness survival merit badge. The learned how to filter water, start fire in multiple ways, and cook over an open fire using a variety of methods.

Scouts from Troop 327, 1327, and Pack 327 rode the train from Salisbury to Raleigh and back to Salisbury. They visited museums, the Capitol building, and ate great food in a Raleigh food court.

The Scouts gathered at Mt. Pleasant Church to recogize Patrick Carpenter earning his Eagle Scout award. Patrick made renovations to the Bandys High School band room for his Eagle project.

The Scouts and adults headed to Philmont had a shakedown hike on the Tanawha Trail. The trail passes underneath the Linn Cove Viaduct and parallels the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Scouts of Troops 327, 1327, and Pack 327 helped to lead worship at Mt. Pleasant Church as part of celebrating Scout Sunday. They were also able to present a check to Meg Thompson of The Christian Food Pantry of Sherrills Ford, the charity for Cardboard City, 2024.

The annual Cardboard City campout was held at Mt. Pleasant Church. Cardboard City is a two-part event - one to raise awareness of homelessness and two, to help fundraise for a local charity. This year the fundraiser benefitted the Christian Food Pantry at Hopewell Church (www.sffoodpantry.com)

For his Eagle Scout project, Nick Stockton led a group of scouts and adults in the creation of a campsite area at Murray's Mill Historic Area.
