Balls Creek Campground Recruiting
October 25, 2025
Troops 327 and 1327, and Pack 327 held a recruiting event during the Balls Creek Campground Trick-or-Treating event. We passed out over 40 lbs. of candy and 200+ "Join Scouting" flyers. Thanks to scout mom, Amanda Whitehead, for the use of her tent.
2025 Lakeland District Fall Camporee
October 17 - 19, 2025
Troops 327 and 1327 hosted the Fall Camporee at Bunker Hill Covered Bridge in Claremont, NC. Events included Shooting Range, Ring Toss, Log Pull, Local History, and others. Outside groups supported the event including a master gardner, model aircraft, and a bee keeper.
Murray's Mill 2025
September 26 - 28, 2025
Troops 327 and 1327, and Pack 327 all participated in the Murray's Mill Festival. The troops staffed the candle making and log cutting areas while parents from the troops and pack manned the BBQ tent as a fundraiser for all three units. Arrow of Light scouts from the Pack camped with the troops as part of preparing to transition to Scouting BSA.
Stone Mountain Backpacking Trek
September 6 - 7, 2025
Scouts from troops 327 and 1327 went on a joint backpacking trek to Stone Mountain State Park. The trek was was nearly 7 miles over 24 hours with an elevation gain of nearly 800 feet. The scouts enjoyed backpacking meals and learned to use bear bags while on the hike.
Summer Camp 2025
July 6 - 12, 2025
The Scouts of 1327 has a successful trip to Camp Bud Scheile this year. The members of the troop participated in merit badges, the Polar Bear Plunge, the flag ceremony, as well as the activites related to the camp's theme of "Scottish Highland Games".
Food Pantry Service Project
June 26, 2025
Scouts from Troop 327 and 1327 gathered at Hopewell Church to help in a service project to clean the food pantry by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and moving items to new locations.
Prepping for Summer Camp
June 17, 2025
Our scouts have spent the month of June prepping for summer camp at Camp Bud Schiele. The theme this summer is Highland Games. We've spent time learning knots, lashings, working on our highland cart, and preparing for other events.
Geology Merit Badge
May 10, 2025
Members of Troop 1327 (and several from 327) travelled to Emerald Hollow Mine in Hiddenite, NC to work on the Geology Merit Badge.
Spring 2025 Joint Court of Honor
May 6, 2025
The Scouts from Troops 327 and 1327 held a joint Court of Honor for all awards earned in the Spring of 2025. Scouts were recognized for rank and for earning merit badges. New office holders were given their badges of office.
Spring Camporee 2025
May 2-4, 2025
The Scouts from Troops 1327 and 327 travelled to the Alexander County fairgrounds for the Lakeland District Spring Camporee. Fire Safety, Aviation, Search & Rescue and Emergency Preparedness merit bages were covered.
Allison Woods Campout 2025
April 4-6, 2025
Scout Troops 1327 and 327 camped at Allison Woods. They spent hours fishing and earned their fising merit badge. Some scouts also earned their Totin Chip.
Hanging Rock State Park Hike 2025
March 8, 2025
Troops 1327 and 327 completed a 3.5-mile hike on the Hanging Rock trail and a 1/2 mike trek on the Upper Cascades trail at Hanging Rock State Park.
Winterplace Ski Trip
January 26, 2025
The Scouts from Troop 1327 travelled to Winterplace Ski Resort in West Virginia for a ski outing.
Cardboard City 2025
January 1, 2025
The annual Cardboard City campout was held at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Cardboard City is a two-part event - 1) to raise awareness of homelessness and 2) to raise funds for a local charity. This year, the fundraiser benefitted the Christian Food Pantry at Hopewell Church. (www.sffoodpantry.com)
